What are these? 1) These are stage3 tarballs created with catalyst like regular stage3's but using musl as the standardard C library. The scripts to build these are at https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/releng.git/tree/tools-musl However, they are not built straight off the Gentoo tree, but need an overlay for patches to the ebuilds. The overlay can be found at https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/musl.git 2) We have both hardened and vanilla flavors, even though they both use the same profiles found at profiles/hardened/linux/musl/ppc profiles/hardened/linux/musl/ppc The vanilla has USE=-hardened forced in /etc/portage. Currently only vanilla is available on ppc. These are extremely experimental! They are only for masochists who enjoy breaking stuff just so they can fix it. musl is extremely lean and fast, so there is a practical reason to work at it. 3) Read the HOWTO in this directory for more information about how to work with these tarballs.
